We were thrilled to be sponsoring and taking part in the Martlets Snailspace sculpture trail in Brighton last autumn.
Like the snail, the Martlets want to encourage you to slow down and appreciate the things in life that make you smile. The bright and beautifully painted snails across our city will be a constant reminder to take a moment to enjoy the time we have with the people we share our lives with.
The inspiration behind the Brandwatch snail designs comes from nostalgic trips to the seaside with family and friends – think shared moments, melting ice creams and terrible lollipop jokes. They are also a tribute to all the fabulous people of Brighton, past and present.
Our snails were located close to some of Brighton’s famous landmarks; the golden spiral on the seafront next to the i360 hosted Scoopalicious gazing out towards the West Pier, while the Pavilion Gardens had FABtastic in all his glory near to the Church Street entrance.
Snailway social media buzz was displayed as it happened on our Vizia installation (sponsored by the Brighton Digital Festival), situated in the window of the Martlets shop, on Church Street.
We had such fun coming up with our own designs for the Brandwatch snails and were very lucky to work with expert prop makers Specialist Models to bring them to life. Have a look at some of the behind the scenes footage of their construction.
