In November, the company released ChatGPT. This fresh, futuristic piece of tech was made publicly available – and people haven’t stopped talking about it since.
ChatGPT caught on fast. In just five days of its release, it surpassed 1 million users. Now, over 100 million people have had a go using the tech. That’s about the equivalent of a third of the entire US population.
OpenAI’s ethos is “to ensure that artificial general intelligence benefits all of humanity.” And it appears to be working. The tech has been put to a huge range of uses and even got through the US medical licensing exam, answering to a passable accuracy.
When looking at the social data, ChatGPT has understandably seen incredible traction – and it keeps growing. OpenAI and ChatGPT received over 9.24 million mentions in the five months following its release.
