BRIGHTON, England (October 1st, 2013)
Brandwatch, the leading independent social media monitoring and analytics provider, today appointed Will McInnes as the company’s first Global Chief Marketing Officer.
Will’s responsibilities are to develop a marketing organisation and brand that will support the company through continued ambitious sales growth around the world. His appointment is effective October 21, 2013 and is based in New York City.
Previously, Will had been a partner and customer of Brandwatch in his role as Managing Director at social consultancy NixonMcInnes, consulting global brands such as BBC, Cisco, Barclays and World Wildlife Fund on social and digital transformation programmes.
“Will is one of the smartest and most inspiring people working in social media today. I have been a fan of his for some time and having him join us and take the CMO seat is a big coup for Brandwatch.”
said Giles Palmer, CEO of Brandwatch.
In 2012 McInnes’ book ‘Culture Shock – a handbook for 21st century business’ was published by Wiley.
He is also curator for Meaning conference, an annual gathering for people who believe in better business. In 2008 Will founded cross-industry working group MeasurementCamp, which brought together industry practitioners to collaborate on how to measure and monitor the impact of social media.
“What Brandwatch does is an integral part of a great shift happening in business right now – connecting with customers, markets and conversations, in realtime. So the scale of our global ambition and the potential for what our customers can achieve on this journey is incredibly exciting, and combines two of my greatest passions: technology and organisational culture.”
A well-known industry speaker, Will has appeared live on BBC News, keynoted at conferences around the world and had his opinions appear in the Financial Times, PR Week and Marketing Magazine.
